KAT KALAMARAS (ARTISTIC DIRECTOR & COMPANY MEMBER)

(Director's artistic note): Kat founded Bl!nk Modern Dance Company with the soul purpose of being able to create and bring the art of dance to the Denver/ Colorado community. Bl!nk started as a small idea but has grown to a full company. Kat gives all the credit to her dear friend Ian who unfortunately passed last year. Ian played a big support in Kat’s life and recommended she start her own company where she felt she can grow as an artist. Bl!nk’s name evolved from a collection of thoughts and ideas mainly inspired by graffiti artist; Banksy, who hid an elephant in a room of art telling people to not blink, or you’ll miss the big picture. The upside down “!” stands for Ian.
